WARD Anthony G. Ward age 73 of Ada Michigan formerly of Springfield devoted son husband father grandfather and friend passed away December 1 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents Leone Costigan and William V. Jake Ward; brother Pat; sister Mary DiDominico. He was the beloved husband of Diane; devoted father of sons Joseph (Suzanne Dumon), Dan (Lesley Berns), Kevin (Jess Goff) and Christopher; grandfather of Ellie Jack Meg Martha Julia Murray and Olive. Tony graduated from Little Flower School where he was a devoted student of Sister Mary Pauletta and Cathedral Boys High both in Springfield IL. He attended Diocesan Latin School St. Marys of the Lake in Mundelein IL graduated from Loyola University and attended University of Chicago School of Business. Tony began serving in the US Army in 1961 was stationed in Frankfurt Germany and was honorably discharged in 1964. His business career began at Illinois Bell Telephone Company Information Technology was a Communications Consultant for Fry Consultants Senior Vice-President Space Management Programs Senior Vice-President in charge of Operations for Chicago Mercantile Exchange Consultant for AG Ward & Associates Global Communications Director for Swiss Bank/OConnor Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice-President for Philadelphia Stock Exchange and Consultant at Tellefsen Consulting. He retired to Williamsburg VA and then to Ada MI. Tony enjoyed membership in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and was a lifelong member of the American Legion. He worked in the Social Outreach Ministry for St. Bede Church in Williamsburg VA and served on the board of directors for Powhatan Community Service Assoc. as Vice-President. Tony enjoyed playing Santa for the William & Mary College Bookstore Christmas parties at St. Bede Church and for the Powhatan Community Service Association. He had a keen interest in politics and was always ready to help his fellowman. Memorial Mass will be offered Saturday at St. Robert of Newminster Church 6477 Ada Dr. SE Ada Michigan.
