Barbara Jean (Heintzelman) Gessner, age 86 of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016. She is survived by her daughter, Paula (Douglas) Kee of Midland; son, Carl (Abby) Gessner; grandchildren, Read Gessner and Caroline Gessner all of Woodstock, GA. Barbara was a graduate of Lowell High School’s class of 1948. She worked at Forest Hill Central High School as a Counseling Office Secretary, and in Real Estate for a brief period. After leaving the Grand Rapids area Barb resided in Grand Haven, Rochester, and most recently Midland, MI. Funeral service will be held Friday 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cascade Christian Church, 2829 Thornapple River Dr SE, Grand Rapids. Rev. Jill Forton officiating. Interment Blythefield Memory Gardens. The family will meet with friends and relatives 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the church chapel.
