Bernard Alfred Kohlbeck, age 86, of Plainwell, MI, formerly of Ada, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018. Bernard was preceded in death by his brothers, Leon, Harold and Norbert; and his step-son, Ron Stanard. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marie; his sister, Maryann Kaufman; his brothers, Clifford (Lynneth) Kohlbeck, Norman (Mary) Kohlbeck and Arthur (Diane) Kohlbeck; his step-children, Diane (Arthur) Kohlbeck, Pam (Ed) Ellinger and Sue (Dr. Thomas) Brown; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Friday, May 4, 2018, at 1:00 P.M., O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Pastor Tony Shumaker officiating. The family will meet with friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, MI 49010.

Sherry and I are so sorry for your loss. It is hard to find the right words. You did have 33 great years together and you are blessed for that. There is a time for mourning, but we know Bernie is in a far better place. We also know we will Join him and have eternity too all rejoice in the presence of the Lord.
