Betty Everse McDonald, age 76 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2020. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, she attended Mount Mercy Academy and Western Michigan University. Betty was a realtor in Grand Rapids for many years and she loved her job. She was an avid and unbeatable Scrabble player with a sharp wit and a smile that lit up the room. She also loved to gamble, travel and she was always on the move. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Florence Everse; and her brother, Edward Everse. Betty is survived by her children, Jim (Anne) McDonald, Melissa (Charles) Sawyer, grandchildren, Grady & Gus McDonald, Emily, Elizabeth and Annie Sawyer; sister-in-law, Debbie Everse Sprague; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Emmanuel Hospice who provided her loving care. A private celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
