Betty Minor Grant, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, December 10th. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon in 1999, her grandson Nicholas, her parents Roy and Hap Halbin, brother James Halbin and daughter-in-law Brenda Grant. Our beloved Mumzie is survived by her children Gary Grant, Wendy (John) Gregor, Wade Grant, Laurie (Jeff) Dykehouse; grandchildren Amy Grant, Laura Grant, Alan (Natalie) Gregor, Abby (Drew) Riegler, Shannon (Michael) Taylor, Ian (Elizabeth) Gregor, Ryan (Stephanie) Gregor, Reannon (Logan) Murphy, Kelsa Dykehouse and Connor Dykehouse; great grandchildren Sophia, Anson, Charlotte, Lennon, Wayland, Logan and Cash. Betty was born on September 1, 1922 and grew up in Detroit, MI. During World War II she worked as a secretary for the war department and later worked in a variety of secretarial positions. Betty cared for her brother, Jim, enjoyed reading and had a keen interest in world affairs. She was a church volunteer and an accomplished seamstress. Most of all, Betty loved spending time with her family. Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 16th at 1pm at the Alaska Cemetery in Alaska, MI (68th St SE, Caledonia, MI 49316) and a funeral service will be held in the spring.
