Betty Joyce Jarman, (Peters) aged 86 of Cascade, died peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, May 15, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob and son John. Betty is survived by her son Bob (Lisa) Jarman; daughters Amy (Don) O’Keefe, Lynne (Rob) Johnson. She was the best “Grandma Betty” to Casey, Riley and Charlotte O’Keefe, Kelsey and Travis Eisen, Sally Johnson and Paul Pastorini, Robby Johnson and Austyn Harper, Emily Johnson, Luke Johnson, Ellie Johnson, John Jarman Jr., and Matthew Jarman, and all of her Kenrob Drive grandkids. Betty’s great granddaughter Presley Jane Eisen was the light in her life. Betty grew up in the hills of Hazard, Kentucky with her two sisters Fay and Anna. She moved to Detroit then Grand Rapids and was the executive assistant to the superintendent of Grand Rapids Public Schools. She met Bob Jarman married for 41 years and together they raised four children in Grandville, Michigan. Betty began working with the team who built Ramblewood Apartments and would go on to manage and run apartment and condo complexes throughout West Michigan. She is a YWCA Tribute award winner. Betty will be remembered for her swinging and singing on her Kentucky porch that was always open for family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday 6-8:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids, and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held Thursday 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery.
