Carol Golombek

Carol Ann Golombek was born February 4, 1945, in Jackson, Michigan. She passed away on May 24, 2019, with pulmonary and heart conditions. Carol was preceded in death by son, Brian M. Golombek. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard L. Golombek, Ada, Michigan; son, Charles (Janna) Golombek, Depoe Bay, Oregon; granddaughters Brandi and Ashley Golombek; daughter, Christine (Jeffery) Castro, Saline, Michigan; granddaughters Corrie and Cassandra Castro; brother, Ronald (Maureen) Trumble, Gowen, Michigan; stepmother, Sandra Trumble, Jackson, Michigan; stepbrother, Robert Hipp, Jackson, Michigan; brother-in-law, Hubert Stephens, Rives Junction, Michigan; several nieces, nephew, and great-grandchildren. Carol was a registered nurse for 30 years. She retired from Spectrum Health in 2006 as a nurse educator. She received an MVP award from Butterworth Hospital in 1995. Carol loved to travel and was fortunate to cruise with her husband and friends for many years. She played golf on many leagues with her husband and they enjoyed going to golf resorts for relaxation. Carol also loved watching college sports. She and her husband had season tickets to Michigan State football for many years and attended the 1988 Rose Bowl. Most of all, Carol loved spending time with her family. She took great pride in her families’ many successes. Carol and Richard are members of St. Roberts of Newminster Catholic Church, in Ada, Michigan since 1990. Carol and Richard wish to thank the Pulmonary Rehabilitation staff at the Bradford site of Spectrum Health for their years’ of support and Faith Hospice. Carol will be missed dearly by all who loved her.

Please join us for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Robert Of Newminster, 6477 Ada Dr. SE, Ada, MI, 49301, on June 1 at 10 AM, with visitation one hour prior to service and luncheon 11 AM. Donations may be made to American Heart Association or American Lung Association.

  2. Rich and family, I am so sorry to hear of your recent loss, she is in the hands of our LORD, no words can comfort your broken heart for years to come, if ever. I listen to the song Sissy’s Song by Alan Jackson and find some comfort that our loved one flew up to heaven on the wings of Angels and looking down on us. I just lost my bride of 48 years so am in sorrow as well, she had been sick a long time too, hugs to you Rich.
