Carol Mae Jelens, age 85 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Jerry; children Brett Jelens, Craig Jelens, Pam (Tim) Moore, Carla Jelens (Carlos Almanza); grandchildren Shawna, Tyler and Cole; and many relatives and friends. Carol’s family would like to thank the Spectrum Health Hospice team for their wonderful care and support to Carol and our family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 2, 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 1935 Plymouth Ave. S.E., Grand Rapids. Rev. Troy Nevins presiding. The family will meet with friends and relatives one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
