Carolyn Marie Whittum, age 51 of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 15, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents David and Ione Whittum and brother Kevin. She is survived by her brother, David L. and Donalyn Whittum and family: Darcie and Gary de la Porte, Darlene and Eric Marine, David and Ebony Whittum, Danielle and Timothy Nelson, and Dakota Whittum; sisters, Kathleen and Kevin Tillitz and family: Erica Anderson, Charleen and Kevin Moomey and Kevin Anderson; Barbara and Don Peterson and family: Dustin and Rochelle Peterson, Deanna and Justin Gomez. Carolyn was such an influential and inspirational person to all who she encountered over the years. Carolyn had quick wit, a huge heart and though she was little, she was fierce. She persevered against incredible odds, living a full and very independent life. Her heart was full of love for God, her family and her church. She loved to worship, sing and praise Jesus. Her soul was genuine, humble, pure and energetic. She taught many of us how to live- without fear and had a spirit that everyone close to her could feel radiating from her. Her smile, laughter and kind heart would light up a room. She was admired by her nieces and nephews and she loved them just as much as they loved her. We rejoice because she is now dancing, running and jumping for joy in the streets of gold, but we are also grieving the loss of an amazing woman of God, an aunt, a sister and a loyal friend. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Memorial service will be held Saturday, 4:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God, 2100 44th Street S.W., Wyoming. Pastor Kerry Watts officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Winchester Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the family to help with memorial expenses.
