Catherine ”Kay“ Lucille Meier age 89 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Ft. Myers Beach, FL, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter John. She is survived by her children Suzanne (Michael) Laemers, Joanne ONeill (Mark Onieal), James (Denise) Meier, Pat (Bob) Levering, Cindy (Kevin) Murphy, Karen (Ron) Duff; 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Kay was raised in Michigan and married Walter Meier in 1948. She spent most of her life in the Detroit and Cascade area. She moved to Ft Myers, FL in 1977, then returned to Michigan in the Mid 90’s. Kay also lived in Belding where she was involved in the Foster Grandparents Program in the elementary schools. She loved to travel, but her pride and joy was spending time with her family. A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday 4-7:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids.
