Christine Hense (Siegel), age 75, passed peacefully on February 28th after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She leaves behind to mourn her passing, husband, Paul Hense; sister, Kathleen Lachniet (Doug); stepchildren, Debbie (Jeff) Nol, Laura (Andy) Gifford and Mark (Cheryl) Hense; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Chris) Haan, Mitchell (Emily) Nol, Cameron (Kendra) Nol, Jack Gifford, Ava Hense, Jake Hense and Cody Hense; great-grandchildren, Teagan and Roman Nol; brothers-in-law, Steve Lachniet (Patty) and Don (Debbie) Hense, nephew, Chad (Kelly) Applegate; nieces, Kristi Lachniet, and Kim Applegate; cousin, Fred Walenga; and many other nieces and nephews. Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Helen Siegel; nephew, Robert M Applegate; brothers-in-law, Phil, Charlie, Jim, Dave, and Dick Hense. Chris graduated from Aquinas College with a bachelor’s degree and was a long-time employee of FMB in the HR department. She loved traveling and spending time in the summer at she and Paul’s farm in Cheboygan MI. Chris enjoyed working in the yard and quiet boat rides on the Black River. A special thank you from the family to the staff at Clark Keller Lake Memory Care for their loving care and support of Chris. Visitation will take place 5-7pm Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Funeral service will be 11:00am Thursday, March 9, 2023 with visitation one-hour prior at same location.
