Christopher Wade Jones, age 55 of Lowell.
With God’s hand setting the course, Chris passed peacefully on Monday, September 12, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 19 years Shawn; parents Jim and Eleanor Jones; sister Michelle (William) Kendall; father-in-law Gordon (Rosemary) Drummond; brother-in-law Kirk (Yvette) Drummond; niece Genevieve (Rob) McDaniels; nephew James Kendall; niece Lindsay (Kevin) Woodworth; nephew Matt (Jenny) Drummond. Chris played hockey as a young man and was on one of the first GRAHA travel teams. He graduated from Forest Hills Central in 1979 and was also a graduate of Davenport College. He enjoyed hunting, fishing especially on Northern Lake Michigan on his boat appropriately named “Free Spirit”. Chris followed in his father’s footsteps and became a mold maker, starting his 30 year career at Rapid Die at age 15, sweeping floors and cleaning bathrooms eventually working up to become President of the company. He met his wife Shawn in Traverse City and they married in 1997 on Beaver Island and made many memories at their second home in the Traverse City area. He was the former president of the National American Mold Builders Association. Chris and Shawn were very active volunteers in Airedale Rescue. He was a man with many friends and a very good friend to all. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 9, 2016 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Watermark Country Club, 5500 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids.
