Michigan University, Daniel worked for Adams Plastics and had relocated to Dallas, Texas to work as a buyer for LSG Sky Chefs. Dan is sorely missed by his parents Don and Chris Knape, brother Austin Knape, sister Meghan (Garrett) Gerst Runion; nephew Reid and Grandmother “Nanna” Lilo Adams, and multiple Adams and Knape aunts, uncles and cousins. Daniel was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ronald Adams and paternal grandmother and grandfather, Donald and Jane Knape who have welcomed him home. Dan will always be remembered in everyone’s heart for being the caring person that he was and as such, he was a multiple organ donor. Dan was a sports enthusiast, supporting the CMU Chippewas and MSU Spartans, beloved family member and friend to all. Dan was simply, “The nicest guy you ever met!” Many years ago, when asked by his Dad what his favorite part about being on his Little League team was, Dan replied, “I like being in the dugout with the guys.” Dan never sought the limelight and will be remembered by his many, many friends for his friendship and because he was “that guy that everyone liked to be with!” Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m., with the Rosary recited 8:00 p.m., at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 23, 11:00 a.m. at St. Roberts of Newminster Church, 6477 Ada Dr., Ada.
