DE CATOR – Darl L. DeCator age 83 of Lowell passed away unexpectedly in his home on December 25 2008. Darl was born on June 5 1925 in Hudsonville Michigan to parents Don and Evelyn DeCator. He served his country proudly as a member of the Navy during World War II and upon his return to Michigan met and married Eleanor DeCator (Hondorp) his devoted wife of 63 years. He worked in heavy construction as a crane operator and had a tremendous love for the outdoors. Darl was an avid hunter and fisherman and fondly remembered a special journey through Alaskas inside passage in a homemade boat as the trip of a lifetime. Darl had a noteworthy zest for living and leaves us with these words of wisdom Find your life and enjoy it like I did! Darl was preceded in death by his sons Denny and Dean and brother Doug. His heritage lives on through his wife Eleanor children Drake DeCator (Lesley) of Ada DeLyn Goforth (Billy) of Washington and Don DeCatur also of Washington state; grandchildren Darl Dina Elllie Reid Connor Kayla and Hailey; and great grand-children Devin Cassie Maria Olivia Isaac and Alexis. Per Darls request a memorial service will not be held.
