Delores “Dee” Mae Daane, age 87 of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019. She was born on June 1, 1932 to the late Gerrit and Henrietta Oudbier. Dee graduated from Grand Rapids Central High School in 1951 and worked as a book keeper for the Board of Education before becoming a homemaker. She married her high school sweet heart, Leon Daane in 1954. Dee was predeceased by her son Douglas Daane. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, her son Steven Daane and partner Mary Booth, daughter Lori Daane and wife Sheri Rush, daughter Kristi Daane, and grandchildren Austin and Gerrit. Dee was creative and taught ceramics. She liked to sew, was an avid knitter, and an incredible cook. She loved her family, pets and gardening. A memorial service will be held at Fifth Reformed Church, 2012 Griggs St SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan on January 7, 2020 at 11am, with visitation one hour prior, Rev. Jon Sherill officiating.
