SANFORD Dennis Warren Sanford born May 20 1945 in Jackson MI passed away January 8 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Vivian (Kelso) Sanford; sister-in-law Esther Champion; brother-in-law Leo Collins; and his best friend J. Lynn Stollings. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Sharon; daughter Janero Hakeem and her son Nicholas; son Douglas (Heather) Sanford and their son Holdan and daughter Brittney; sister Marcia (Ed) Harris and their children Tal (Amy) Harris and Noelle (Pete) Sirbu; brothers-in-law David Collins Jim (Jeannine) Collins Pete (Gail) Collins Gordon Champion; sisters-in-law Marion Collins Doris Rodgers Ruth (Larry) Smith Joyce (Jim) Hitts; many nephews nieces cousins and special friends Diana Stollings and her children Rebekah (Gary) Davis and Jonathan (Deanna Taylor) Stollings. His loving dog and faithful companion will miss him dearly. Den lived to hunt. He treasured the many wonderful trips with the guys! He was a true Patriot who loved his country and although he never donned a uniform in our armed services he was forever fighting the war here at home to keep our freedoms intact and honoring those who did serve. He contributed to many communities nationwide through his career as a Civil Engineer. Funeral services will be at Ada Bible Church 8899 Cascade Road S.E. Rev. Jim McFarland officiating. A memorial service will be held at Michigan Center Bible Church in Jackson on Monday. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park Jackson MI. Visitation 6-8:30 p.m. at Roth-Gerst Chapel 305 N. Hudson Lowell.
