Mr. Donald E. Robinaugh, age 85 of Grandville, slipped away from his frail mortal body on Sunday morning, September 6, 2020 to be welcomed home by his parents, Wilbur and Lona (Higgins) Robinaugh; his brother, James Robinaugh; his sister, Wanda (Moniaci) Robinaugh; his first wife, Gail (Latam) Robinaugh and his second wife, Patricia (Johnson Patnoude) Robinaugh. He will be missed by his children, James Jr. (Susan) Patnoude, Richard (Theresa) Patnoude, Michelle (Mark) Oele, Lisa (Lynn) Hill, Mara (Larry) McGahan, Michael (Susan) Robinaugh, Michelle (Mark) Gerst, Mitchell (Monica) Robinaugh; his 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren who brought him joy. Don is a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Grand Rapids area.  He was one of the first bishops in Grand Rapids and has served his Savior, Jesus Christ, in many ways over the years.  He was one of the first computer programmers in the U.S. and worked for many years at Lear Siegler/Smiths Industries/GE. He enjoyed traveling, especially in the western U.S., reading Civil War books and visiting battlefields, playing a few rounds of golf and bowling a few frames, and especially spending time with his large family. Don was a pillar of strength to his family as well as a constant source of Love.  Visitation will be open to the public on Thursday, September 10 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids.  Please note that Covid guidelines followed at the funeral home include wearing masks and social distancing.  Interment will take place at Blythefield Memory Gardens in Belmont, MI. The Funeral service will be private due to Covid restrictions.
