Donald James Nichol, Sr., age 63 of Grand Rapids passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick and sister, Mary Webster. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Beverly; children, Tammy (Roger) Doty, James Nichol, Jeremy (Kari) Nichol, Wendy (Tim) Houseman, Donald (Whitney) Nichol Jr.; mother, Virginia Nichol; brother, David (Beth) Nichol; sisters, Carol (Patrick) Gillespie, Sharon Kwas; grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Wade, Alec, Logan, Caleb, Tyler, Chloe, De’Braun, Ja’Nyah, and Tarrin. Don was an employee of Bykerk Landscaping in Caledonia, loved his grandchildren and NASCAR. Funeral service will be held Friday 11:30 a.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road, Grand Rapids. Rev. Robert Evans officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
