PIERCE Dorothy Jean Pierce aged 86 of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully January 24 2011. She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret Pierce; brother Joseph Pierce; sister Barbara Pierce-Chervenka and brother-in-law Karel Chevenka. She is survived by her sister-in-law Sally Pierce; 6 nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and nephews; 5 great-great-nieces and nephews; special friends Wilma Guldner and Roberta Porter and her many friends at Porter Hills. Aunt Dot was a caring loving special lady. She was employed at Michigan Bell for almost 40 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and part of the founding families of East Grand Rapids. Her family would like to thank the staff at Porter Hills Greenhouse for their wonderful care and support. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered 11:00AM at St. Stephen Church. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Church 750 Gladstone SE East Grand Rapids MI 49506.
