Dr. Vanderveen went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Friday, October 5, 2018 following a very brief battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin; and her staff at the Dermatology Center of Grand Rapids. She will be fondly remembered as one of the area’s best dermatologists and Mohs surgeon. Private services have been held. I was shocked to learn of Dr. Vanderveen’s passing. I have been a patient of hers since 2000.
For every Mohs surgery she did on me (many) she was always so gentle. I loved her, her kindness, and her stories about her dog. Such a sweet lady. She will be dearly missed.

My sympathy to Kevin, whom I have never met. Your wife was the best Doctor and with her perseverance and patience diagnosed a skin concern for me. She recently treated my 91 year old mother and treated her as if she were her own. She will be missed by so many here in Grand Rapids. I am so saddened by her passing and will remember her fondly.
