Dr. William J. Foley III, age 71 of Rockford, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. Foley Jr. and Louise (Papa) Foley; brothers, Mike Foley and Steve Foley. William is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Cathy A. Foley; sisters, Betty Foley of Lexington, KY, Patricia Foley Barrette (Mike) of Louisville, KY, Kathy Herder (Mark) of Van Nuys, CA, Rebecca S. Foley of Lexington, KY; brother-in-law, Roger Frazee (Lori), sister-in-law, Sally Prominski (Kenny); aunt, Anne Foley of Lexington, KY; nieces, Katie Barrette, Natalie Dunn; nephews, Nat Herder, Will Herder, Joe Barrette, Nick Frazee, Dan Frazee; and special friends, Ruth and Bill Dunn. William graduated from University of Kentucky Medical School. William practiced Internal Medicine at East Paris Associates PC for 40 years. He loved to be in the garden, cook and was a voracious reader. Memorial contributions may be made to The Nature Conservancy, 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100 Arlington, VA 22203. Visitation will be 4:00-6:30 pm Friday, July 30, 2021, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 with memorial service at 6:30 pm. Pastor John Prominski officiating.

    Mark and I would like to offer our deepest and most heartfelt condolences at this challenging time.
    The very little time we got to know Bill his memory will be with us for ever. We knew he was a kind
    man a giving man and loved you deeply. We hope his precious memories will bring you comfort and

  2. I loved my brother-in-law Dr. Bill very much and miss him! He was a great Doctor ( my own) and and even better person! He was always there for us Calm and supportive! I looked up to him! I knew many of his patients ( my fellow Deputies) who also said he was great and the best doctor they ever had! I believe Dr. Bills soul is in heaven as he was such a good man who loved people and loved his family! I miss you greatly Dr. Bill and I’m a better person because of you!

  3. Bill will be greatly missed. He was such an important part of East Paris Internal Medicine. His patients loved him for his caring disposition and easy going bedside manner. He was a trusted partner to work with. His presence many times would lighten up a room. Cathy, wish you comfort in this difficult time.

  4. Dear Cathy: My dearest and heartfelt sympathy for he loss of your beloved “Bill”. Bill loved you so deeply and cared for your every need. I am so sorry for your loss of your truly “wonderful” man. I’m here for you should you need anything during this sorrowful time. Bill was a light that will never grow dim. His kindness and caring for all will always be with you and with all that knew him. God bless you and keep you Cathy today and always.
