SZUDZIK – Edmund C. Szudzik aged 91 of Grand Rapids died December 27 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 plus years Rita Szudzik; parents Albert and Mary Szudzik; brothers Ike and Stanley Szudzik; sister Lillian Modreske. He is survived by his children James E. Sudz (Nancy) Szudzik of Menomenee Falls WI Bob (Renee) Szudzik of Grand Rapids Marge (Richard) Hensch of Ada Mary (Dave) Cole of Rockford Tom (Angie) Szudzik of Grand Rapids; 10 grandchildren Denise (Ryan) Dunleavy Michael Lisa and Bryan (Molly Irish) Hensch Amy (Mike) Dunleavy Scott (Morgan) Szudzik Malia and Hillary Cole Marilyn and Greg Szudzik; 6 great-grandchildren Connor Hannah Austin Brayden Liam and Kegan; sister Sophie Baweja; also nieces and nephews. His hobbies were gardening fishing and listening to Polka Time. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and the 126th Infantry Regiment part of 32nd Red Arrow Division. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church 1449 Wilcox Park Dr. SE Rev. James A. Chelich and Rev. Don Weber presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Rosary will be recited 6:30 PM. Visitation 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd. SE and one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Anns Home 2161 Leonard St. NW Grand Rapids MI 49504.
