ANDEL – Edward J. Andel age 68 of Grand Rapids passed away unexpectedly on December 21 2008. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 47 years Joan Andel; daughters Lisa (Dave) Schuel of Byron Center Karen (Bob) Newton of Plymouth MI Nancy (Vic) Farah of Los Gatos CA Linda (Jason) Fry of Chesterton IN; grandchildren Brittany and Taiylor Schuel Brian and Monica Newton Allison and Natalie Fry; sister Betty (Don) Gill; brothers-in-law Gary (Rita) Wechter John (Pat) Malloy; sister-in-law Barb (Larry) Truchon; many nieces and nephews. Ed was very devoted to his family and his career. Throughout his career he developed many lasting and treasured friendships. He retired in 2001 after 35 years with Norton Company. Ed taught his loved ones the importance of faith and family. He leaves them many warm cherished memories and will be greatly missed. Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be offered Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Visitation 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home 3980 Cascade Rd. SE.
