ISSELHARDT Ella Mae (Bee) Isselhardt passed away February 27 2009 at the age of 96. Widow of Ralph Bee was preceded in death by her beloved daughter and best friend Gail; her brothers Glenn James and Guy. Bee is survived by grandson Robb Riesch; great grandson Jimmy Riesch of Cody Wyoming; son-in-law Lyle Morrison; sister-in-law Arelene Bateman of the Villages Florida. Bee will be remembered with love by her many nieces and nephews especially of the Fenoglio and Bateman families and Cheryl Seyfert; also by her extended family of Lyles Christine Hock Sue and Joe Vanderveen Molly and Tom Carpenter Patty and Russ Kunze Tricia and Jeff DeShane. Bee loved politics. Her lifelong dedication to the Republican Party began in 1936 when she worked to elect presidential hopeful Alf Landon. Upon arrival in Grand Rapids she began to work tirelessly for the party until her final illness. As a precinct delegate she spent countless hours knocking on doors and manning the phone lines. She was a constant presence at the Kent County Republican Headquarters. In 2006 the Republican Legislators of the State the Republican Caucus the Kent County Republican Committee the Federation of Republican Women of Michigan and the Gerald R. Ford Republican Women joined together in recognition of her contributions to the party! In September 2007 Bee became a Charter Honoree of the Michigan Republican Party Wall of Honor! Bee was a long time member of Cascade Country Club and Ada Congregational Church. Bee was a huge fan of the Detroit Lions (Ralph played for the Lions in the early thirties) and the Detroit Tigers but politics was her game and she played it well!! The family wishes to thank her best friend Betsy Westman and Pastor Ila Flo Barfuss (Pilgrim Manor) for their love and attention to Bees every need and comfort. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. March 4 2009 at Ada Congregational Church 6330 Ada Dr. SE Rev. Gary Burdick officiating. Visitation from 7-9 p.m., 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Ada Congregational Church 6330 Ada Dr. SE PO Box 135 Ada Michigan 49301.
