Emily Catherine Emmons passed away peacefully on March 25, 2023. She was born on October 31, 1934, in Bell County, Kentucky. Emily was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Emmons and by her parents Emily and Elihu Lewis. She is survived by her nieces and nephew, Marsha Sondys, Sean Lewis Katrina Stevens. Emily came to Grand Rapids after High School. A cousin asked her to come here as there was more work. She worked at a few jobs and then got hired by the YMCA to help in the kitchen. Met her husband Walley and got married. Then moved to Vergennes township where she lived most of her days. The last few months were spent at Maple Ridge Manor of Lowell. Emily loved the Lord and was always happy to have conversations about him. She was a member of the Vergennes United Church and attended regularly until her health was too poor. Later years you would find her watching westerns or cartoons on her VHS or DVD machines. There will be a memorial service held at Vergennes United Church, 10411 Bailey NE, Lowell. This will be on Sunday April 30, 2023, at 12:00 PM (noon). Later her ashes will be added to the family plot in Grandville, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vergennes Church.

Aunt Emily became like a mom to me after mine passed when I was 26. She always was on the go, and every time, my kids wanted to listen to her Elvis tapes when we went somewhere. We would sit with the kids and play rummy and checkers. She is extremely loved and will truly be missed. I could write so much more. We love you Aunt Emily.
