SMITH – Ernest Smith aged 86 of Lowell died March 22 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Blanche. He is survived by his children James (Judith) Smith of FL Ernestine Bundy of Lowell Patricia Smith of Lowell; sister Esther (Joseph) Hammons of KY; brothers-in-law Dale (Barb) Little Carl (Mabel) Little; sister-in-law Mary Lou Heatherly; grandchildren Jerre (Ryan) Sytsma James (Julie) Smith Jr., Danielle Hulst Rhea (Justin) Anes Jennifer (Mark) Ruis Brian Haan; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Smith was an Army Veteran of World War II and retired from General Motors. Funeral services will be March 28 1:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Lowell 865 Lincoln Lake Lowell Rev. Roger LaWarre officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation March 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Roth-Gerst Chapel 305 N. Hudson Lowell. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Lowell or Hospice of Michigan.
