Esther Johnson of Grand Rapids, MI was called home to our Lord and Savior on January 26, 2023, at the age 83.

Esther graduated from St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Ionia, Michigan in 1957. She moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she met the love of her life, Arnold. They were married on October 17, 1959. She was a stay-at-home mom to her four children. She loved to sing, play guitar, cross- stitch, sew, garden, cook, play cards, do puzzles, and read. Her greatest joy was spending time with family. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sports, recitals, performances, and never missed an opportunity to spoil them. She had an unshakeable faith in God! She was everyone’s “go-to” prayer warrior and pillar of strength. Even though she will be greatly missed, she has left us with a legacy of faith and love.

She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Johnson; and great-grandson, Dylan. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Arnold Johnson; her children, Kim (Ken) Coffman, Brenda (Brian) Hall, Victoria Johnson; grandchildren, Joshua (Anna) Coffman, Erin (Mase) Brown, Katie Hall, Brittany (Eric) Anderson, Joseph Hall, Elizabeth Hall; great-grandchildren, Kayd, Harmony, Faith, Joylynn, Alaina, Brooklyn, and Patrick; sister, Marty Baczewski; brother, Robert (Eileen) Mooney; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1935 Plymouth Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506, with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Troy Nevins presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
