Frank H. Palmer, age 97 of Grand Rapids, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 65 years, Mildred. He is survived by his granddaughter, Debbie (Sergio) Palmer-Biagioni; great grandsons, Matthew and Michael Biagioni; niece and nephews, Elizabeth Betzig, Franklin (Barb) Nagler. Frank graduated from Petosky High School and Davenport College, BA. He also had one year of business administration from the University of Michigan. He and Mildred E. Raber married November 20, 1937. Frank was a Life Member V.F.W., Member of American Legion, Charter Life Member of American Business Club (AMBUCS), Past National Big Hat President of AMBUCS, Past Commander of the Grand Rapids Power Squadron, Charter Member of Mayflower Congregational Church, member of Michigan Consolidated Gas Company Retirees Club, Past President of Quarterly Notables (Women’s Symphony Group), Past Treasurer of Gerald R. Ford Republican Women’s Club and Michigan Consolidated Gas Company Retiree’s Club. He was a proud Army Veteran of WWII serving in Europe, Africa and Asia. Funeral service will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road, Grand Rapids Rev. Lynn Barger Elliott of Mayflower Congregational Church officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 2-5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Business Club, Mayflower Congregational Church, US Power Squadron, or Davenport University.
