Frederick G. Braun Jr., age 87, of Grand Rapids, MI beloved husband, father and Gramps went to heaven on Monday Sept 2nd, 2019.   He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frederick and Ruth Braun, his brother Richard and sister Ellamae and his wife of 32 years, Rosemary Braun.  Fred is survived by his wife of 27 years, Beverly and brother Robert (Bonnie) Braun.  Fred and Rosemary’s children; Fred III(Tamela) Braun and children Mollie (Jeffrey) Walsh & great granddaughters Blakeley and Scarlett, Fred IV, Max, Hillary;  Laura (Mike) Fasel and children Adam (Leslie) & great granddaughter Emma Rose, Tobin (Taresa), Dillion, Cameron, Shane ;   Tom (Susan) Braun and children Ashlyn Rose and Jessica;  Mary (David) Jablonski and children, Lauren, Hannah and Genevieve; Mike (Stacy) Braun and children Kaitlin, Emily, Stephanie and Megan;  Liz (Nate) Pigorsh and children , Michael, Rosie, Simon and Otto and stepchildren Mary Ellen Ingle (Kathy Barton); Jeffrey (Margaret) Ingle and children  Brian, Lauren and Kevin; David (Karen) Ingle and children Julie and Paul. His strong Catholic faith was modeled in his day to day living, his care and concern for family, friends and all lives he touched. He retired from the family business of Braun Machinery and was a faithful member of the Oriental Order of Ground Hogs in Cincinnati, OH. His Christian servitude was expressed through his devotion to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Catholic Central Boosters, over 40 years of Meals on Wheels, Davenport University Trustee, Past President of Cascade Hills Country Club & one of the Founding Fathers of the Peacock Hunters Association. Gramps favorite past time was attending his Grandchildren’s sporting events, playing golf with family and friends, and watching MSU basketball and football. The visitation will be held Wednesday September 4th, 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm with Rosary at 7:15 with family and friends sharing following at O’Brien-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Rd, Grand Rapids, MI.  A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am Thursday Sept 5th preceded by a 10:00am visitation and family welcome at 10:45am at Immaculate Heart of Mary (1935 Plymouth SE, Grand Rapids, MI). Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the  Killgoar Foundation for IHM School, 1935 Plymouth Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506-4494.

  1. So many blessings and memories through the years first knowing Fred and Rosie and then he and Bev.

    Our children shared their elementary years at IHM School followed by Catholic Central and our grandchildren became(and still are) friends at the same two schools following that tradition.

    Rest in peace dear friend. Your sufferings are now ended and you have entered the Lord’s Kingdom.

  2. We’re very sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. Although we didn’t know Fred personally, we send our heartfelt condolences to the Braun and Ingle families. You will remain in our daily thoughts and prayers. May God bless and watch over all of you.

  4. We were fortunate to have shared many activities over the years with Fred and Bev that provide wonderful memories. Fred was always optimistic and fun to be around. We will miss him.

  6. We will certainly miss seeing Fred at the lake. Such a kind neighbor with always a clever wit! We wish we could be there to offer our condolences in person, but your family will be in our thoughts and prayers as you remember and celebrate Fred’s wonderful life.
