FACTS

Born: August 7, 1934
Death: December 18, 2013

Gary Martin Thomet, 8/7/1934 – 12/18/2013. A man greatly loved by his family and friends left this earthly realm Wednesday, December 18, 2013 to now reside in the heavenly places with Christ Jesus his Lord.
He will be sorely missed by his wife of 58 years Joyce, and his children Kim & Terri Thomet, Sheri & Steven Wills, Shelley & Ric Froysland along with his grandchildren Lee & Pamela Thomet, Joshua & Jennifer Thomet, Megan Thomet, Max Froysland, Leah Froysland, Molly Froysland and his great granddaughter Lorelei Lee Thomet, his brother Glen & Sherry Thomet along with his nieces and nephews.
Gary was a humble man, a man of integrity, full of kindness and love. His greatest pleasure was his family including the privilege of working with his son and best friend, Kim, in their home improvement business.
He loved the outdoors: rejoicing in all of God’s creation. He was a strong man – cutting and splitting wood to give his friends, felling trees, peeling the logs to build a small cabin.
I Thessalonians 4:13-18
“But we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve like other people who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so it is through Jesus, that God will bring back with him those who have died. For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have died. With a shout of command, with the archangel’s call, and with the sound of God’s trumpet, the Lord himself will come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. So then, encourage one another with these words.“
Memorial Funeral Service will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. at Thornapple Evangelical Covenant Church, 6595 Cascade Road. Pastor Rob Peterson officiating. The family will meet with friends and relatives 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road S.E. and one hour prior to Monday’s service at the church.
