Gary R. McFarlan, age 77 of Wyoming, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Packy” McFarlan; daughter, Lynn Ann McFarlan; and brother, William A. McFarlan. Gary is lovingly remembered by his children, Patty (Rich) Stuard, Shelly (Kurt) VanThiel, Sara (Jon) Runkel, Emily (Chris) VanHeest; grandchildren, Kacy, Parker, Maya, Hannah, Ella, Jenna, Miley, Wyatt, Avery, Zoey, Ryker; great-granddaughter, Taylor; mother, Mary Ellen McFarlan; brothers, Dale (Scarlett) McFarlan, Jim (Patty) McFarlan; sister, Sue Rupp; sister-in-law, Dana McFarlan; and many nieces and nephews. Gary was a graduate of Kaukauna High School. He loved classic country and western music, especially Willie Nelson. Gary was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers. He will be remembered for his mischievous smile, and spontaneous outbursts of song. Gary was definitely one of the good ole’ boys. Visitation will be Saturday, February 13, 12-1pm with private family funeral service following at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Rev. Joan Cornelison, officiating. Masks and social distancing will be required. Interment Fairplains Cemetery.
