Gemma Heestand, age 71, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Gemma was born in Pennington, South Dakota to the late Nelson Funkhauser and Gertrude Ceresna.

Gemma worked part time at Walmart and was an avid member of her South Boston Bible Church.

Gemma enjoyed being spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed being outdoors, working in the garden, crocheting, sewing, working on bible studies and volunteering for different events.

Gemma was preceded in death by both her parents as well as her brother, Nelson (Butch) Funkhauser.

Gemma is survived by her children, Ricky (Kim) Heestand Jr., Amy (Tony) Hinerman, Paula (Jim)

Faulkner Jr., James (Angie) Heestand; grandchildren, Daniel Hinerman, Hailee Hinerman, James Faulkner, Kenny Faulkner, Alexxis Heestand, Brandon Heestand, Brie (Terry) Hutchenson, Raivan Heestand, Cheyenne Heestand, Alicia Heestand, Christopher Heestand, Gene Heestand; great-grandchildren, Zayden, Beau, Harlow, Ammelia, Fisher, Sebastian. Gemma is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Newton, June Treharn; brother, Paul Ceresna; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 13, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at South Boston Bible Church, 6958 Kyser Rd, Lowell, MI 49331, with Pastor Cory Malone officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior, with a luncheon to follow.
