His hard work, vision and love of the welding industry culminated into a 42 year career at MWS where he retired as owner and CEO in 2003. But retirement didn’t keep him away from the business. His “new” job title was executive chef/delivery driver for Miller Welding. If he was not Up North, he was cooking for his employees in the on-site kitchen he designed, or delivering truckloads of welding products to customers. However, Wednesday afternoons were reserved for cards with the “Poker Group” at Founders Brewing Company. He served on Advisory Boards of Hobart Brothers and The Lincoln Electric Company. He was a member of The American Welding Society and Masonic Doric Lodge #342 . He was also on the Class of ’56 High School Reunion Committee. In the words of many, “Jerry was the finest example of a husband, father, grandfather, friend, cook and entrepreneur. We are all thankful and fortunate to have had Jerry in our lives. He will be greatly missed by many.” A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Watermark Country Club, 5500 Cascade Rd. S.E.
