Gertrude D. Cooper, age 101 of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord Monday, March 20, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond. She is survived by her children Margret (Dr. Robert) Hoekman, Dr. Raymond (Christine) Cooper Jr., Judi Cooper, Robert P. (Linda) Cooper; grandchildren David Hoekman, Steven Hoekman, Alan Cooper, Dr. Amy Cooper, Arthur Cooper, Benjamin Cooper, Whitney Cooper Candido, Jordan Cooper, and Brett Cooper; five great grandchildren; special nieces and nephews Barbara Skelly, Janice Ice, Diane and Bruce Drake, and John Donkersloot; and by special friends and caregivers Annetta Koetje and Christie Ling. A graveside service was held March 23, 2017. She celebrated her 100th birthday in grand style last year at a party attended by her large extended family, which was a special time for her and for us. We thank Harbor Hospice in Norton Shores for their special care at her life’s end, and suggest you consider them if you wish to make a memorial contribution.
