PROOS, HELEN C., age 88 of Grand Rapids, went to the Lord on Sunday, October 26, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Proos; son, Daniel Proos; sister, Mary Kay Field. She is survived by her sons, Thomas, James (Susan), Robert (Michelle) and Patrick; her 15 grandchildren, Thomas (Karen), Tammy, Kara (Ryan), Jamie (Jason), CJ (Amy), Pamela, Katie (Mike), Peter (Kim), JoAnne, Michael, Matthew, Rachael, Jessica, Joshua, and Alex; 16 great grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in 1943 and a 1946 Graduate of Mercy Central School of Nursing. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2750 Burton St. S.E., Grand Rapids. Msgr. Ernest P. Schneider presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Rosary will be recited Thursday 5:30 p.m. Visitation Thursday from 3-7:00 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
