Henry “Hank” Lewis Shuster Jr., age 75, passed away Friday October 30, 2020, at his home in Ada, MI with his wife and children at his side, after a courageous battle with ALS.   Hank was born in May 1945 at Jacksonville Naval Base in Florida to Henry Lewis Shuster Sr. and Katherine Nichuals Shuster of Philadelphia, PA.  Hank married his college sweetheart Jane Victoria Benner in August 1965.  He graduated from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA with a BA in Business.  Hank and Jane began their married life and soon welcomed twin babies, David Thomas Shuster and Kathlyn Jane Shuster.  Three years later, they would welcome a second set of twins, James Thomas Shuster and William Thomas Shuster.  Hank served his country as an officer in the Army First Cavalry in Vietnam, before returning to his bride, children and a job at Chrysler Motors.   In 1977 Hank started Snack Time Service of Grand Rapids, MI, a vending company that is still operated by family today.  Hank was funny, kind-hearted and generous.  He showed an early affinity for learning music by ear and loved playing music on his keyboard.  Hank loved his wife Jane of 55 years and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at his cottage on Croton Pond.  Hank owned many different sports cars through the years and he and Jane enjoyed road tripping through the United States.  Hank is survived by his wife, Jane Benner Shuster; his children and their spouses; David Shuster, Kathlyn (Anthony) Roest, James (Marielle Estes) Shuster and William (Wendy Weidenfeller) Shuster; his ten grandchildren, Katelyn, Breanna, Robert, Will, Joseph, Amanda, Madeline, Claudia, Dean and Luke; his sister, Lynda (Mark) Young; his brother, Thomas (Martha) Shuster; and his brother-in-law Wilbur (Nora) Benner.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Katherine Shuster; his in-laws, Wilbur and Madeleine Benner, and daughter-in-law, Stacy Hughes Shuster.  Visitation will be Thursday, November 5  at 10:30 AM with a service at 11:30 AM at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Rev. Dominic Couturier of St. Robert of Newminster Church, officiating.  Masks and social distancing will be required.
