Herbert Hiram Rice, age 86 of Lowell, formerly of Homer, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Clara; children Linda Nelson-Rice, William (Barbara) Rice, Catherine Hevia, Rita (William) Fox; grandchildren David (Danda) Rice, Michelle Rice, Jasmine Bonney, Aaron Fox, Travis (Jennica) Conklin, Kimberly Conklin; several great grandchildren; sisters Helen, Rosemary, Elaine; brothers Daniel, John; also nieces and nephews. Herb proudly served 24 years in the United States Navy. He was a collector of antique cars, an active member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a loving father who enjoyed life to the fullest and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 24, 11:00 a.m. at Lowell United Methodist Church, 621 E. Main. Rev. Brad Brillhart officiating. The family will meet with friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the church. Military honors will be held under the Auspices of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard at the church. Interment Merriman Cemetery.
