Jack Haveman, age 68, passed away in his home early on August 15th from pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family: wife of 45 years, Lori; daughter, Holly; and son, Nick; along with his beloved grand-dog Henry; and longtime furry friend, Brody.

He is also survived by his brother, Jim (Sarah) Haveman; sisters in law: Marcia (Jim) Hage, Carlene DeHaan, Nancy (Jim) Taylor, and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was the co-owner of Kennedy’s Flowers & Gifts and retired 10 years ago. Jack thoroughly enjoyed working on his 23 acres of land, discovering, and moving rock, and making trails for hiking and cross-country skiing. He also loved exploring the great outdoors of Sleeping Bear Dunes from the family cottage in Empire.

Jack will be remembered for being friendly, caring, genuine, artistic and humorous.  He was a wonderful husband, a loving dad, and a beloved friend. He could make you laugh til you cried and will be missed more than words can express. His passing will leave a huge hole in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at Cascade Christian Church (2829 Thornapple River Dr SE) on Sunday, September 18th. Visitation 1:30pm, service 2:30pm, fellowship to follow.
