James Andrew “Drew” Millard (b. Jul 24, 1964 – d. Nov 9, 2021) passed away unexpectedly from complications due to diabetes. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Drew. He loved a quiet evening of fine dining with friends with a glass of wine in hand. He enjoyed reading and had a passion for books, collecting signed editions from alternative fiction authors, most notably his favorite, Harlan Ellison. Drew was renowned for his love of movies and music. This, combined with his appreciation for the often-overlooked gems, enriched all who knew him. Drew is survived by his son, Addison; sisters, Kim and Erin; and his mom, Julie. He also leaves those friends who loved him for over 30 years and called him “brother”: Todd, Adam, and Dave. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 2 pm to 4 pm at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel located at 3980 Cascade Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.

  1. May your spirit know all of the love in the universe. May your desire for prose be eternally fulfilled.

  2. I love you. I am shocked. You leave a void behind you. But you also leave memories that we will giggle about forever. Thank you for letting me come along for the ride.

  3. Kim,
Words cannot express how sorry I am. Andy, as he will always be known to me, was such a special soul. I enjoyed his unique perspective on everything. I will miss him dearly. Sending much love to you, Addison and all who loved him.

  4. Enjoyed many hours of dreaming of what could be and then trying to make it a reality. He was a generous sole willing to try his best to make things work. I enjoyed my time working with him.

  5. My sincere condolences to Andrew’s family and friends. We worked together for several years where I recall talking about his strong interest in genealogy research.

  6. I had the privilege of getting to know Andrew over the past couple of years and he loved to tell me the story of connecting with his mother and family and traveling to great places together. Praying for peace and comfort.

  7. Love you!!! Always will need and miss one of those hugs. The FDC…My heart, there are no words!

  8. We don’t often get to keep the friends you had as a teenager throughout your whole life, but Andrew was, and always remained, one of my very favorite people in the world. It’s a poorer planet without him.
