TEUNIS – James Richard Teunis aged 63 of Caledonia passed away unexpectedly November 30 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Doris Teunis; infant sister Anna Marie Teunis; special aunt Dorothy DeZwaan; father-in-law Vail Hanley. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 38 years Kathy; their beloved children Jennifer (Brian) Savin Sarah Teunis Casey Teunis; cherished grandchildren Jayden and Jackson Savin; sister Nancy Longfellow; brothers Tom Teunis Bill Teunis; special aunt Annie DeZwaan; mother-in-law Shirley Hanley; several sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Jim enjoyed spending time with family especially his two grandsons served on the Grand Rapids Fire Department for over 30 years where he was Firefighter of the year in 1982 was a proud Navy veteran and an avid gardener and reader. Funeral Liturgy will be offered December 4 at at Holy Redeemer Church 2700 Baldwin Dr., Jenison Rev. Ronald Hutchinson and Rev. Dennis Morrow presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation December 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd., SE and one hour prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
