Janice Ann Ballard, age 87 formerly of Naples, FL., passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor & Wilma Varnagatas; siblings, Elaine White, Ron Varnagatas, Margaret Bugai, and David Varnagatas. Jan is survived by her children, Debbie Kulmer, Denise (Dave) Ballard Schomaker, Bob Ballard Jr.; grandchildren, Kari (Brian Tittle) Kulmer, Christopher (Melissa) Kulmer, Kelly Merlihan, Michelle Merlihan-DeWall, Ryan Ballard, Heather (Heath) Reid; great-grandchildren, Olivia Otteman, Maxwell DeWall, Aurora DeWall; and brother, Victor Varnagatas Jr. Jan was known for her fun and feisty personality. She enjoyed cheering on her Detroit teams in any sport, boating with her family, and was an avid reader. Jan was an amazing mother and found great joy in being a mom. Private family services will take place at a later date.

We are so sorry to hear of Aunt Jan’s passing.
We will always remember how her laughter lit up a room and how her kind and generous nature made everyone feel loved !

I truly enjoyed visiting Jan at Sunrise with Hospice of Michigan. She was such an upbeat lady with a sweet wit. She will be missed. My deepest condolences.
