Jean Freeburg, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Ada, MI on December 7, 2019. She is survived by her sons Scott (Robyn) Freeburg, Randy (Amy) Freeburg and grandchildren Adam Freeburg and Alex Freeburg. Preceding Jean in death was her husband Alan Freeburg. While growing up in Maywood IL, outside of Chicago, Jean took acting, dance and vocal lessons. Her love of the theater led her later in life to many years of volunteering at Grand Rapids Civic Theater and Broadway Grand Rapids. Prior to moving to Ada, Michigan, Jean was a very active volunteer for the Illinois Republican Party working/running many local and congressional campaigns in addition to serving a stint as chairwoman of the Will County Republican Party. She adored spending summers at the family cottage “up’a north” at Ford Lake. Jean was an avid bridge player and loved to complete the daily crossword. Jean truly enjoyed raising her family, spending time with her grandsons and all of her very dear friends. Private memorial services have been held.
