Joan Burleson Conrad, age 72 of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Boyd Goodwin Conrad; her sisters, Beverley Hardy and Sibley Barrett; her son, Paul (Julie) Conrad; her daughter, Kathryn (Kory Willis) Conrad; and her grandchildren, Alexander McKenzie Conrad, Austin Meredith Conrad, and Rose Mackenzie Conrad Willis. She was a respected health care professional, educating medical assistants, authoring several book chapters, serving on the board of the American Association of Medical Assistants, managing a physician’s office, and serving patients with care for over 35 years before her retirement. She was also a beloved wife and fantastic mother and grandmother, and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Memorial Service will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road, Grand Rapids. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service.
