ROTH Joan D. Roth (Rypstra), age 89 of Lowell was received into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on January 13 2012 surrounded by her children. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred E. Roth in 2008; and brothers Maurice H. and her twin Alfred H. Rypstra. Joan was born on April 13 1922 in Muskegon MI grew up in Grand Rapids graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1940 then attended Hope College. Joan married Alfred in 1948. They moved to Lowell where they raised three children and Joan was a partner in the family business Roth Surge Dairy Farm Equipment for 33 years. She was a life time member of First United Methodist Church of Lowell. In retirement Joan enjoyed spending winters in Florida with Al. Joan was very proud of her children and six grandchildren. She is survived by her children David (Anita) Roth Linda (John) Affholter Gary (Suzanne) Roth; grandchildren Patrick and Collin Roth Michelle (Steve) Feutz and Carolyn Affholter Alison and Nicholas Roth; sisters-in-law Irene Rypstra June Roth; brothers-in-law Edwin (Doris) Roth Walter (Kapua) Roth; and special friend Ann Fackler. The family would like to thank the staff of Emerald Meadows Assisted Living for the care given to Joan over her last three years. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Lowell 621 E. Main. Rev. Rick Blunt officiating. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. at Roth-Gerst Chapel 305 N.
