Grealish, Joan 11/26/2019 Grand Rapids age 68, passed away November 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Rose Sauer. Joan is survived by her sons, Adam Grealish & Elizabeth Feuille, and P.J. Grealish & Nicole Mueller; her granddaughter, Adelaide Rose Grealish; and her partner in life, Gary Klassen. Born in Huntington, New York, Joan grew up surrounded by a loving family and many pets. While studying at SUNY Albany, she became fascinated with the Spanish language and culture. She majored in Spanish and spent time abroad in Madrid. After living in Boston and New York she moved to Grand Rapids where she spent the last 35 years. Joan’s passions focused around good food and wine. To Joan, food was love, and she shared that love often, cooking for her friends and family. Joan extended that love to all in her work with local food pantries. She founded the food pantry initiative at St. Robert’s and stewarded the program for the last 30 years. She loved staying active – whether it was going for walks, visiting the yoga studio, or shopping at multiple grocery stores in a single day. Memorial service will be Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Robert of Newminster, 6477 Ada Dr. SE, Ada, MI 49301. Family to meet friends one hour prior to service. Rev.
