VON WIEGEN – John A. Von Wiegen aged 89 of Grand Rapids formerly of Dumont and Norwood New Jersey died February 25 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Julia Etta Von Wiegen. He is survived by his children Kathleen (Noel) Camborde of New Mexico Mary Markow of East Grand Rapids Elaine (Robert) Ackerman of Grand Rapids Victoria (Edward) Carroll of New Jersey; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. John served in the South Pacific U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Wilkes-Barre. He retired from the New York Telephone Company as a design engineer after 38 years. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM at the OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel 3980 Cascade Rd. SE Under the Auspices of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard . Interment Graceland Memorial Park.
