John Eric Norton, age 61 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 5, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barry & Sylvia Norton. John is survived by his brothers, Bill (Liz Meyer) Norton, Mark (Maureen) Norton; nieces and nephews, Chris (Katie) Norton, Beth (Mike) Pokorny, Dan (Monica) Norton; grand-niece and nephews, Gibson, Merritt, and Cashton. He graduated from Ottawa High School Class of 1977. John loved pontooning, cross country skiing, and his Elmwood Beach cottage at Gun Lake. Private services were held by the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army, 1215 E. Fulton St. Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

My dear friend is gone. John was the kind of friend that is family. He loved my children like his own. Please appreciate the love you have while you can. Because in the end, the only thing that matters is love.
We always enjoyed our interactions and conversations with John at family gatherings. He was a kind, gentle soul. We will miss him.
