God has called our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather home. John Leroy Boman, known to his friends and family as “Jack” and favorite little people as “Papa”, entered into eternal life at the age of 77 on Sunday, August 8th, 2021.
Jack joins his parents, June and Merle Boman, his son Mark, daughter Annie, and granddaughter Lillian. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Michelle Boonstra, Steven Boman, Brett Boman, Elizabeth Kalmink (Bradley), Kevin Boman (Amanda), Meagan Mojica (Ezekiel), John Boman, and Brendan Boman. His spirit will be kept alive by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jack lived a long life full of love, loss, and everything in between. He sought laughter and good conversation, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021, 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle, 2750 Burton St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation Thursday, August 12, 2021, will be held from 6-8 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
