John M. Westerman, age 58, of Wyoming, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, John “Jack” and Barbara Westerman; and brother, Joe Westerman. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lisa “Ginger” M. Westerman; daughter, Melissa R. (Stone) Westerman; father-in-law, Donald Lawler; mother-in-law, Cheryl L. Coon; stepfather-in-law, Dennis W. LaLone; sister, Ann Westerman; granddaughter, Lilla June Titov; and his beloved aunts and cousins. As a young man, John was intrigued with out of the ordinary pets, including hermit crabs, a tarantula name “Fuzzy” and an Iguana. John graduated from Grand Rapids Catholic Central. While in high school enjoyed traveling in the summer with the Coachman Drum and Bugle Corp. He also loved camping and fishing. John was a skilled photographer, and even had his own dark room in the basement during high school. He served in the U.S. Airforce in both Florida and Alaska as a dental technician. Later working for Davis Dental Lab for over 20 years. He had many skills and enjoyed working with his hands which became handy with home projects. John kept a wonderful vegetable garden and enjoyed cooking very much. Many rescue dogs found their way into John’s life, becoming comforting companions and good friends. Family will celebrate his life at a later date.
