Joy Sargeant, formerly of Lowell, joined her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. She was met with open arms by her husband Dewey Sargeant, parents Raymond and Jeanne Johnson and brothers Ronald and Lee Johnson. She is survived by her daughter Liza Whittemore of Arizona; sisters Deanna (John) Corp of Sandusky, Linda (Ross) Scott of Sandusky, Jane (Russell) Logston of Bear Lake, Nancy (Doug) Murdoch of Dearborn, Janet Herzog of Frasier and brother Larry Johnson of Carsonville. Joy also had a hand in raising many Haitian boys, especially Jone Destine and Paul Valeory. And not to mention her very special friends Alice Bush, Darline Piere, Sharon Miles, Linda and Sonny Destine and the Ann Landy family. Joy was born and raised on a farm near Sandusky, MI. She was a graduate of Sandusky High School and Michigan State Univeristy, she were earned multiple degrees. Joy lived out her years serving the Lord with multiple missionary trips to Haiti and being an active member in many churches. She will be cremated and her ashes scatterd on Rodgers Pond of the Muskegon River, where she spent the better part of 30 years. There will be a Celebration of Life held later in the summer.
